This Privacy Policy explains how Petrov IT Solutions ("Petrov IT," "we," "our," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit petrovit.net (the "Site") or contact us about our managed IT, cybersecurity, and cloud services. We've kept this short and plain because we believe you should be able to read and understand it.
This policy applies to information we collect through the Site. It does not cover information our clients store on systems we manage on their behalf — that's governed by the separate service agreement with each client.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us
When you fill out our contact form, request an assessment, or subscribe to our newsletter, you provide:
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number (optional)
- Company name (optional)
- The message or service interest you submit
Information we collect automatically
When you visit the Site, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) records standard server-log data:
- Your IP address
- Your browser type and operating system
- The pages you view and the time of your visit
- The website that referred you
This data is used to keep the Site running, secure it from abuse, and understand which content is useful. We do not run Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party tracking scripts on the Site.
2. Cookies
We use a very small number of essential cookies, set by Cloudflare, to protect the Site from bots and abusive traffic. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. See our Cookie Notice for details.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information you give us to:
- Respond to your inquiry or assessment request
- Schedule and follow up on conversations and meetings
- Send you the newsletter you signed up for (you can unsubscribe at any time)
- Provide and improve our services if you become a client
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, ever.
4. How We Share Your Information
We share information only when needed to do business or comply with the law:
- Hosting and infrastructure providers (e.g., Cloudflare) that operate the Site on our behalf
- Email and CRM tools we use to manage client conversations
- Professional advisors (lawyers, accountants) when needed
- Law enforcement or regulators when required by valid legal process
Every vendor we use is bound by confidentiality obligations and may only use your data to perform services for us.
5. How Long We Keep Your Information
- Contact form submissions: retained for up to 12 months unless you become a client, in which case we keep records as required by our service agreement and applicable tax/business law.
- Newsletter subscriptions: retained until you unsubscribe.
- Server logs: retained by Cloudflare for a short rolling window (typically 30 days) for security and operational purposes.
6. How We Protect Your Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and vendor due diligence. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
You may at any time:
- Ask what information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct or update it
- Ask us to delete it (subject to any legal retention requirements)
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email we send you

California residents
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), you have additional rights, including the right to know what categories of personal information we have collected, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any CCPA right, contact us using the information above.
Pennsylvania residents
In the event of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you in accordance with Pennsylvania's Breach of Personal Information Notification Act (73 P.S. § 2301 et seq.).
EU/UK residents
Petrov IT does not target services to the EU or UK. If you are an EU/UK resident and you contact us, you may exercise rights of access, correction, deletion, and objection by emailing privacy@petrovit.net.
8. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Third-Party Links
The Site may link to third-party websites (e.g., Microsoft, Google, partner pages). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites — read their policies separately.
10. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the "Effective Date" at the top of this page and, when appropriate, post a notice on the Site or email subscribers. The current version always lives at petrovit.net/privacy.
